Hi everyone, I found out my RAM is XMP optimized and was thinking about upgrading to a model that’s EXPO optimized. I’m really into the look and would love a white Corsair Vengeance RAM, but they don’t offer CL30 EXPO in white and CL36 is the only choice for me. Should I switch to CL36 EXPO or stick with my CL30 XMP one? Both are 6000MHz, 32GB, and I’m using a Ryzen 7 7700X with an Asus ROG motherboard. Any advice would be appreciated!

The gap between CL30 and CL36 is minimal, almost negligible. You might experience a slight drop of 1-3 FPS. The clean white CL36 set works perfectly fine.

The cl30 remains the best choice since the xmp expo problems were resolved a while ago. These days there’s really no significant difference, so people generally avoid overly high CLK kits—they tend to be outdated Samsung/Micron parts that will need replacement later when CPUs outpace them and demand 7000+ clocks. Your current setup is likely a Hynix die with support for over 9000, so it should handle the entire DDR5 era without issues. Doing this now gives you an edge over cheaper Samsung/Micron options that won’t last as long, especially since higher frequencies aren’t necessary yet. Superior ICS models tend to outperform in both stock and tuning.

No settings available for 6400CL32; however, the Ripjawz S5 remains available in white on that model.
