I just finished playing Black Flag and wanted to know if Unity should come before it. I got the game for free with my GTX 970, but I heard it wasn’t playable at launch. Now that it’s updated, I’m curious—can it still run? If not, I’ll probably jump into Rogue, which seems well-optimized.

Rogue is an excellent game with smooth performance. Unity, on the other hand, doesn't work well in my view—I've purchased it but haven't completed the initial missions.

Your frame rate was solid at 1080p.

I tested it in a surround sound setup with maximum resolution (5760x1080p) and maintained a consistent 50 FPS.

Unity offers an engaging experience, though some aspects may feel a bit limited. Nonetheless, it remains a solid choice.

I believe so. I don’t really think there’s an “over complained” issue with this game. I’m playing at 1920x1200, using max settings, FXAA, and a single GTX 780. It runs around 45-60 FPS, mostly around 50-55, and it works fine for me. I don’t understand why everyone is so critical of Ubisoft because of this title. The visuals are solid, the environment is nice, and the gameplay is decent. Yes, I agree sometimes you might see some frame drops, especially when jumping into a crowded area, but that doesn’t happen all the time. I’m not a big fan of Ubisoft or a fanboy, but I’d recommend giving it a try yourself—you’ll get the feel for it.

I gave it a shot. A lot of damage occurred even when VSync was enabled with Nvidia Inspector. Once I experimented with the tool, the game wouldn’t launch at all. It would crash right after starting on Uplay. Ugh.

Start with Unity first; Rogue works fine but the experience feels brief compared to Assassin's Creed. You're limited to just six sequences, and the side activities aren't particularly engaging. Despite that, the narrative remains solid.
