Hello, I’m considering an upgrade to a better motherboard and CPU. Right now I have an AMD 2600 with an ASUS B450-F. I own an NVIDIA graphics card and not an AMD one. I’ve noticed AMD’s performance has improved recently and is now more competitive with Intel. I’m new to Intel components and find it tough to compare prices between the two brands. My budget is around $700 CAD, a bit over that amount. I’d like suggestions and tips. I also want USB Type C and PCIe Gen 4 support for my case and drive needs. Thanks!

it doesn't really matter; PCIe 4 won't help much with these components. With your B450 board, just update the BIOS and install Ryzen 5 5600X or 5800X.

I share the same view as @SavageNeo—adding extra expense for a new graphics card when your existing model already runs on the newest AMD processors isn't necessary.

I made a mistake in believing PCIE 4 would help, so I needed a new motherboard. Appreciate your advice!

The SSD operates at the maximum PCIe 3.0 speed, making a 4.0 upgrade unnecessary. Additionally, GPU advantages aren't realized with PCIe 4.0 yet.
