Hello everyone, I'm from Pakistan. I recently purchased a Dell OptiPlex 7010 PC about four months ago. The specs were: an I7-3770M processor, 16GB DDR3 RAM, 1666MHz clock speed, a 600-watt thermal design, Tier 2 RX 470 Sapphire Nitro, plus a 4GB SSD with 1TB HDD (230GB). After setting everything up, I changed my case and did some research. Everything is working fine now. I have around ₹5000-6000 in savings and am trying to decide what to upgrade next.
For the motherboard, I plan to get a lot of customization options, settings, and BIOS updates. It will also remove the need for a front I/O connection. As for the monitor, I have a large LED screen with high resolution and I can easily switch it out.
What do you all think? Right now, I’m using a 1366x768 19-inch LED monitor. My motherboard only has three slots, which is limiting because of the GPU size and lack of BIOS/CPU settings. I’m not sure if upgrading to an SSD is necessary yet.
Three SATA ports are sufficient. You can pair one SSD with one HDD and one optical drive—though the latter isn’t essential. Angled SATA cables might help you fit the cable under the card. Photos would be useful. You didn’t need to upgrade the case because it’s just a budget build; the original case looks fine.
I purchased the case, but it doesn't fit this setup. The sapphire card is large, and I have two angled SATA cables. The issue is that all three SATA ports are in a straight line, so they’re all under the GPU. The third SATA port is the center one, which helps cover the cable angles.
Images aren't very helpful because we can't see how the GPU is obstructing the SATA ports.
Set up the GPU at the bottom PCIe slot and relocate your hard drives.
Acquire a stand and position the card wherever suits you best.
