Pretty much every single AIO I've seen has failed before the 3 year mark - usually after 24-30 months. The sample size is only about 100 but I'm fairly confident in my statement of when it's actually a risk to keep using it.

I’m not familiar with water cooling, but from a chemical engineering perspective, it should function if the coolant effectively removes heat and the pump has sufficient capacity and type. The overall performance also depends on how long the PC is used. Since I rarely use my PC, it might last about five years. However, I’ve noticed that green residue can build up under the pump after a year or two. I generally prefer AIO systems but opted for this one because I enjoy RGB lighting. Also, purchasing a tall ram would be challenging with models like DR Pro 4 or NH-D15.
The green algae is not present in every cooler but the fittings wear out. And considering high end air coolers deliver the same or better results, I cannot see a reason to buy an AIO unless it's a 360mm onw
