For the gaming machine, the 10600k outperforms both in speed, though the 3600 non-xt still covers the gap and works well because game demands don’t increase to eight cores. The slight boost in clock speed with the xt doesn’t significantly impact performance. Alternatively, you could wait for Zen 3. Technically the z490 is a Gen 4 chip, but the present CPU lacks that capability; however, at least current Gen 3 x16 bandwidth is sufficient.
