You might be testing our limits by asking without the right context or focusing only on specific details. Also, X3D CPUs are designed to handle latency well, but running 64GB RAM with a configuration like 36-36-36-96 can be tricky. The performance might vary depending on how you use it, and there could be other factors affecting results.

It’s two sticks of 32GB each. I mentioned using 64GB, but I just want to know if skipping to Cl30 is sacrificing too much speed.

I own four 16GB Lexar 6000C30 units that work together, but they cap performance at 4600 MHz. I’ve had to adjust the VSOC and VDDG settings to achieve this. Latency stays below 60 nanoseconds, which isn’t bad. Edit:

32GB CL30 offers high latency for gaming, and running any game smoothly requires around 64GB of RAM.

I don’t believe that’s sound guidance. My experience with modern games (including those with mods) shows I’ve never pushed my 32GB CL30 6000MHZ system to its limits. Because the advice focused on gaming alone, having 32GB is more than sufficient.

I believe he was referring to the system. Games typically don't require 32GB, but if your device is full of apps and browser windows, installing a heavily modified game might exceed 32GB. As I mentioned before, my setup does this. If I were creating something now, I'd expect 64GB without hesitation. However, budget limits can still affect this decision.

I allocated funds for a 64GB RAM setup, but only for the CL36 6000 model. If you're considering alternatives, the Flare X5 might be worth exploring instead of the CL30 6000.

You notice a RAM consumption of around 32-34 GB during gaming. Other apps like OBS and Discord add minimal load, and Rust's older nature helps keep usage lower.

This approach isn't optimal because other applications can slow down your game. It's better to focus all your resources on the game itself during playtime. Keep usage under 20GB, even when running demanding titles like GTA 5 with the NVE Enhanced mod.
