It supports voltage adjustment. By default, the 13600k operates around 1.35V on many boards, but you don’t need much extra voltage to reach 5.5/5.6OC like my board runs at 100C with 1.38V out of the box. I’ve undervolted it to 1.1V and temperatures in R23 are now maxed at 66°C. At 1.25V I can achieve 5.5GHz with 4.5E performance, so having precise voltage control helps optimize the chip and maintain cooling.

There are numerous demanding tasks beyond gaming that also have practical value.

the main advantage of the 13900k compared to the 13700k lies in its higher factory clock speed and a minor boost in cache. both models share the same number of P cores, while adding another 8 E cores won't make much difference. if you can afford a 4090, it makes sense to opt for the top option.

The 13700k is roughly equivalent to a 250W CPU when it's left in stock. The Peerless Assassin performs well on 200W CPUs during heavy use. I’d assume the 13700k will run slightly hotter, but not near thermal throttling, particularly in games where the workload is lighter than benchmarks.
