I’m preparing for a PC upgrade focused on gaming and VR. You’re considering a 32GB RAM setup with 3600MHz CAS memory options. For smooth VR performance, you’ll want to match your CPU’s timing specs closely. Check your GPU’s recommended RAM speed and latency—aim for the same or slightly faster rates. While 3600MHz is solid, ensure the RAM supports the necessary bandwidth and stability for low-latency gaming.

Avoid this board; opt for the B550 version instead. The higher price of 3600C14 doesn't make sense.

C16 and C18 refer to different memory module types, with C18 offering higher bandwidth at 3600MHz. The X570 is considered a subpar board likely due to its outdated design and performance limitations. The B550 is often seen as a more affordable option but may lack the quality and features of newer boards like the B550 Pro or B550X.

The optimal frequency range seems uncertain, but around 3200MHz and higher appears promising. A 3600MHz setting might work well.

As @boggy77 mentioned, the board isn't great. Consider getting the X570 Tomahawk.

gaming wifi ranks as the least powerful tier on the ATX MSI board. The Tomahawk offers superior performance compared to the C16 model. The 3600 CL16 provides enhanced speed.

Could the tomahawk work for you? Are there clear performance numbers comparing C18 to C16? What’s the difference in FPS and latency? If you can afford it, would a C14 really offer a big speed boost?

According to common reports, the board components aren't ideal for the X570. However, it's probably not a major issue since they should function properly.

Your setup is similar in size, so it should work well for RAM. The top choice right now is 3600 cl16. If you need more, consider 4000 cl16, which offers about a 5% increase but reduces latency. You might also look at 4 x 8 or 2 x 16 3600 cl16 for better performance.
