Consider buying the ASUS PRIME B450M-A or ASROCK B450M PRO 4 for your new AMD build. The rest of the details are as follows: Ryzen 5 3400G (upgrade to 3600X later), G.Skill Ripjaws v8, 8GB RAM at 3200MHz, Kingston A2000 250GB M.2 NVMe, Gigabyte P450B PSU, Gigabyte C200 case, Seagate 2TB HDD. I’ll start with an APU now but plan to get at least 1660 super for future CPU upgrades. You mentioned the ASROCK model offers excellent VRM for its price.

The Pro4 is clearly the better option.

It depends on your needs, but Asus is generally regarded as a strong brand. As for Asrock components, they are known for reliability and good stability in most cases.

On the other hand, the Pro 4 features a 3-phase VRM with SM4337 and SM4336, making it a solid choice. It’s simply a much improved board overall.

The Pro4 offers significantly stronger and more efficient power delivery, enhancing stability particularly for future upgrades.

The VRMs should reliably handle the increased power from your Pro4 to the 3600.

Handles sizes up to 3700x and possibly 3900x without issues.

That's reasonable, it seems similar to the MSI X570 Gaming Plus. Most people dislike it, but I got one for free, so I thought using it in a test build would be fun!

The forum's tier ranking lists it for a 75A draw, matching about 80-100W at standard Ryzen frequencies. Putting in a chip with 95W or less should be fine unless you're pushing it beyond normal limits.

Don't rely on that score. That platform should perform much better—around 3900x. It doesn't seem like a solid choice.
