Hi everyone, I bought and assembled my own gaming PC about a year ago. The parts included were an AMD Ryzen 5 3600x, MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX, GTX 1050 TI, 16GB RAM at 3200 MHz, and an LG 27GL850 (1440p, 144Hz). Since the RTX 3000 series came out, I’m considering the 3060 or 3060 Ti. Both use PCI-E 4.0 and my motherboard is 3.0—does a new motherboard still make sense? Appreciate your thoughts.

You’re content with your existing motherboard. The 3080 only slightly exceeds the bandwidth that PCIe 3.0 provides, if any.

The difference is just 1-2%, so you probably won’t notice without checking the frame rate.
