top options include -MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4, ASRock B660M Pro RS, Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4, and ASRock B660M Phantom Gaming 4. All fit your 12400F build and stay under $120.

None of these boards stand out as exceptional. They work adequately for a 12400F, but I wouldn’t rely on them for a 13600KF if you plan to upgrade later. The B660M Pro RS offers the strongest heatsink, though its VRM remains inefficient and causes significant heat. For future upgrades, consider saving $10-20—those around $130 start delivering noticeable improvements—and if you stick with them, the Pro RS would be your best bet.

Consider the motherboard options carefully; the ones you mentioned aren’t top quality. For budget savings, opt for B660 boards. Based on past experiences with low-cost boards, I recommend better alternatives. If you’re targeting 13600K, the MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4 is a solid choice. You can find it here: https://www.tokopedia.com/tokoexpert/mot...c%3Dsearch Or the slightly less powerful version from ASUS Prime B660M-A D4 is available at a lower price and should work fine with 13600K.

I’d search for a Z690 Msi Pro board that’s frequently available on sale

The board won't require a CPU if I use Z690
