You're looking for a distro that works well with a mouse, keyboard, and controller on a Raspberry Pi. Consider Ubuntu for broad compatibility, but also explore lightweight options like Lubuntu or Xubuntu if you want simplicity. For a more tailored experience, check out distributions built around Steam Deck support or Windows compatibility. It depends on how widely you expect users to interact with your setup.

Can I start several emulators on the same computer? Or does the system only allow running one at a time due to the Retro Pi setup?

Retropi comes with around a dozen built-in features, but which one are you interested in using?

The Pi lacks the capability for dolphins, PCSX1/2 Dreamcast, and Xbox. It sometimes encounters issues with N64 based on the game. For better performance, stick to older systems like NES, SNES, GBA, Genesis, etc. Here’s a list of built-in emulators: https://retropie.org.uk/about/systems/ Remember, some emulators may not be supported by the latest Pi versions.

You're mistaken—pcsx1 performs quite effectively on Rpi3.

It seems like you're saying the outcome wasn't what you hoped for. It happened to be a problem with your Pi 3 when you attempted it.
