Windows 10 works smoothly on most systems without Intel built-in chips and with more than one core. On my Yonah-based motherboard cell phone, I used Windows 8.1 which performs well, though it's limited to 32-bit. The recommended specs for Windows 10 are either DDR-2 SDRAM AMD K8 or a Core 2 Duo processor.
Windows 10 includes drivers for older graphics cards and Windows 7 drivers should function too. A suitable option is Linux—either Linux Mint or OpenSuSe.
SMPlayer includes a YouTube extension that runs significantly quicker than any standard browser player. Try it and have fun. By the way, SMPlayer isn't perfect, but YouTube functions excellently. Ideally, YouTube should offer smooth features like instant skipping, rewinding, and fast forwarding without any lag.
Avoid Mint or Ubuntu; search for Linux tailored for older hardware.
