It’s fine to keep your current OS if you’re comfortable with it, but a clean install might be better for a fresh start. Consider what matters most to you.

Absolutely, it's usually best to perform a clean installation during upgrades involving the CPU and motherboard or other major parts. Ignoring this can lead to frequent driver issues.

It's wise to perform a clean installation periodically, even though your PC functions adequately. Be aware you might have to reactivate Windows based on its licensing status.

Where are you going from here? If it’s not very old and you’re using Windows 10, it should work just fine. Still, make sure to back up the essential files. It’s always a good idea.

Switching from MSI Nightelf and an i5 6500 to MSI Tomahawk Max with a Ryzen 5 3600 on Windows 10 is working.

If there's almost nothing on your OS drive/partition I would reload just since it's Intel to AMD chipset. If it'd be a pain to reformat you can still likely get away with it as win10 is very forgiving about that stuff. It should re-detect the chipset and switch over to all AMD. Also don't forget to install the AMD chipset drivers as that can help quite a bit (and ofc update bios).
