I destroyed my old PC, so I’m planning a fresh build. I’m considering a 7950X3D because it looks like it offers strong performance now. However, I’ll need a solid graphics card to pair with it. There are plenty of options available, but I’d appreciate advice on which ones work well together. The board should handle many M.2 slots and provide maximum input/output capacity, all within a budget of $300 USD. Anyone have experience with any models or tips?

I invested heavily in my 7950X3D with an Asus Strix X670E-E packed with many features, plenty of I/O, even a postcode—yep! But it costs $400. The Strix B650E-E offers similar capabilities on its B650E chipset but has fewer Gen5 PCIe lanes and is about $300, which might fit your requirements.

Mostly in line, yet I wouldn't trust an ASUS board or anything from them given the latest issues

I have a strong interest in ASRock and MSI budget options. Consider the B650E PG Riptide, B650 Tomahawk WiFi, or for those who can afford it, the X670E Tomahawk WiFi.

They made a mistake with the EXPO voltages, but the issue was resolved swiftly. Few people were impacted. AMD is expected to verify boards, but they also struggled there. Their first response was clearly unsatisfactory, though it doesn’t affect the overall product quality. Now every board maker has poor quality control and support—this reflects today’s corporate reality.

I notice the postcode is mentioned frequently. Do folks truly require it? I haven’t experienced the machine failing immediately after setup for 35 years. Sometimes I’ve forgotten to replace the spacers on my CPU cooler once. What features are really needed today? How much I/O do people actually utilize now? Maybe I’m losing interest, as my kid suggests.

I've never used a postcode before, but it turned out to be really helpful. Before, I faced big RAM problems with EXPO, so I could tell what was causing crashes or freezes. I understand X670E isn't essential for most people, but it's nice to have extra capacity sometimes. I was ready to pay an extra $100 just for it, even though I'm not sure if it's worth it. That's me—why I don't really suggest it.

And then he took a bold stance in the ROG alliance scenario.
