I acquired that intel chip at a low price and planned to upgrade the prebuilt unit. The board I had is listed here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33028429560.html. The issue was that it didn’t boot with the new CPU, and after some research, it seems the board doesn’t support it. Are there any motherboard suggestions that would work with that processor? It should fit a "be quiet! Silent Base 801" setup.
For affordable Z390 ATX boards, the Gigabyte Z390 UD is likely the top choice. In the US it offers one of the lower prices (around $100) and with a 9600KF it should function adequately. The main drawback is that cheaper alternatives often have inferior VRMs that struggle with overclocking. You can view Hardware Unboxed's earlier video discussing problems with budget Z390 boards here.
I was considering purchasing a GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS PRO. From what I can see, it should work with the CPU.
For future planning, the Aliexpress motherboard model is H170. Generally, Intel CPUs are compatible with two distinct chipsets. The H170 supports 6th or 7th generation processors. The 270 chipset also covers those generations. If you're targeting a 9700k, consider chipsets beginning with "2" or "3" such as H310, B350, Z390, H210, B250, or Z290. Opt for B or Z boards for optimal fit.
