I've been using an old, slow machine for a long time and just got the chance to upgrade its processor and motherboard. I'm considering the 3700x and am unsure which board to choose. I was thinking about getting a CPU/Motherboard bundle from the nearest Microcenter, but I'm not sure if they'd be suitable. I'm open to picking a different board if those options aren't good enough. I'm not very familiar with motherboards these days. Thanks for your advice!

Tell me about your budget for the upgrade and the types of tasks you'll be running on the new system.

Budget roughly between $400 and $500. I intend to utilize the PC for gaming, recording, streaming, and basic content creation.

For the board or the entire project? Since it's about the full build, a 3700x could consume a large portion of your budget.

Currently, a 3700 model costs $269.99 at my nearby Microcenter. For the full upgrade, there are many great offers I've discovered recently in my area. @TofuHaroto

You've spent a significant portion of your budget. What resources do you currently possess?

@TofuHaroto the B450 Tomahawk Max is nearly unavailable everywhere I search, should the MSI B450-A Pro Max be a suitable replacement?
