For 280 I can install an I7 10700 tray, though I'm uncertain it fits my budget. If I choose Intel, their current models are not very appealing.

In gaming, a few titles feature an 8-core Zen 2 chip defeating a 10600k. Others succeed with more cores or better pricing. A 3700x model costs around $320, while a 10600k is about $180 and performs well even with weaker components like a Deepcool Gammax 200.

Accurate, though not all uses are for gaming. Even within gaming, performance often relies heavily on the GPU.

Upgrading your processor is a cost-effective choice, such as replacing it with a Ryzen 3600. The Ryzen 3200G, despite its naming, actually uses a Zen+ architecture (2000-series), whereas the Ryzen 3600 runs on Zen2. Pair it with a B550 or B450 motherboard for under 100 euros, like the Gigabyte B550M S2H or B450 Aorus Elite/Elite V2. For the CPU options, consider Ryzen 3600, 3600X, 3600XT, 3700X, or 5600X/5800X.

Sure, I'm also working on 3D modeling. An 8-core 7 would be great, but an I5 or Ryzen 5 should suffice for gaming and performance. You're right about the cores—future-proofing might be a consideration. People say 6 cores aren't enough anymore, but the 3200g offers similar performance to three 1300s and still struggles with GTA V and others.
