The headline seems accurate. Thanks to MSI cashback and other local discounts, I could secure a 3900x performance for just $30 more than what the 5600x would normally cost (prices in Europe may still change). This deal is valid only until the end of October, making it hard to wait for benchmarks. I’m not involved in productivity tasks—mostly school and gaming. Would you consider it worthwhile to get the 3900x instead of the 5600x? It offers double the cores and the same turbo clock speed. How many games currently require more than six cores, and what about the IPC improvement for the 5600x? What would you think?

The results are very clear. Gaming delivers 5600X, while productivity reaches 3900X. Each offers a significant edge—12 cores versus 6, with a huge difference in single-threaded speed. The best option is right there.
