I’m not very familiar with laptops, but since there’s no Microsoft key on the back, a clean install might let you activate Windows. The code could be embedded in the BIOS, so you’d need to check there after reinstalling.

Don't pay attention to those people who claim Windows 7 is outdated. I bought a Sony laptop in 2010 with Windows 7, but it works perfectly with Windows 10. Older machines like the ones discussed in Austin's comparison video also run Windows 10 smoothly—Dell models from 2006 and MacBooks are examples.

They claim if you damage your laptop with a new operating system, they'll tell you, "we warned you. These devices don't run this OS."

Ensure Windows 10 is already set up on your laptop prior to proceeding. If not, omit the product key during installation; it will activate automatically. In exceptional scenarios, you may have to choose "Activate Windows" and rely on phone-based activation.

They're clever, it's just marketing. Your laptop isn't officially "Windows 10 compatible," but it works fine—it's just not "factory OEM compatible." The biggest mistake was skipping the format cleanup. That's all.
