Checking the specifications for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with the RTX 3080 Waterforce GPU.
Hi,
I'm setting up a gaming rig with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an RTX 3080 Waterforce. Should I stick with the Corsair SF750 or switch to the SF1000? I have both NIBs, but I'd prefer the SF750 because of packaging concerns, though I'm open to using the SF1000 if you think it's better.
TIA
It depends on the specific SF750 model you own. For the ATX 3.x, it should work as long as you don’t exceed the power limits too much—up to around 400W would be acceptable. With the ATX 2.4, avoid letting the GPU surpass the RTX 3080’s standard 320W limit, or consider using a different PSU like the SF1000. The 30 series tends to have significant power spikes; if your PSU isn’t built for such fluctuations (introduced with ATX 3.0), you must factor that in.
