Checking the Ram Troubleshooting for Light and Dual Channel Problems
I assisted a friend with assembling his PC, but it won’t boot and there’s a display light on. I tested each RAM stick separately and together—the setup wasn’t using dual-channel mode, and everything functioned normally. However, once both sticks were placed in the dual-channel slots, the system started flashing a strong DRAM light.
It's DDR4, and based on the error it looks like a memory training problem, though I can't be certain.
DDR4 typically lacks advanced memory training features found in DDR5. A missing channel might result from issues with the cooler mount—such as being uneven, overly tight, or too loose. Are the CPU and motherboard the ones affected?
the cpu is an i7 10 gen and the motherboard is an asus z590. i think they’re just standard corsair memory, but my friends went to bed last night so i can’t get that info.
