It seems the system often runs low on battery, especially since no windows are open. I’m unsure if I should stop or restart it when I bring it back online. Maybe I can write a script to handle this automatically.

Open Task Manager, verify no malicious software is present, and perform a malwarebytes scan.

I don’t notice any high power consumption or CPU activity, yet the Task Manager reports a failure to detect GPU usage when it’s actually accessing memory instead of processing cores. It might be worth running a scan.

Why can't these tools just perform a quick scan of the NTFS index?

The Windows desktop runs explorer.exe. Confirm the device is ready to wake up. Check the battery status before proceeding.

It seems the app mistakenly identified something in the weather image as adware, which caused significant CPU usage. This issue disappeared, and now it appears only the weather app itself is active—not Explorer. Interestingly, no problems were reported in my old NiceHash folder from years past.

I realized why I considered stopping the task—I wasn't sure if the laptop was still awake, but it did shut down when I closed the lid. After the Windows update caused issues with my graphics drivers, I tried using a GPDIT enabler and turned off driver updates.

Considering the need to automate the process upon opening and closing the lid, a script can be designed to handle the task and terminate when the lid is shut.

yeah now that my drivers (shouldnt) be getting messed up all the time on startup it shouldnt be an issue, jsut the extra time and it loading the default icc profile and having to restart asus's lightingservice to make the keyboard backlight work.
