Checking the fence for a new CPU and motherboard
I'm sorry about my board decision now if I'm being honest. The X470 Taichi has poor memory support, especially with my Zen+ 2700X. I discovered I have modules from two different DRAM makers—two B-die and the other two CJR. Ugh.
The 9800x costs 375 euros, while the 10900x is priced at 650 euros. Also, living in the Netherlands.
The taichi ?! It's a really good board you didn't make anything wrong the reason why you probably don't get as good of an oc is probably because of the imc
That offer isn't great, but the 9800x performs okay—it's one of those unusual chips for Coffee Lake. It should work well and the price seems reasonable for what it offers.
I anticipate Zen 3 coming out soon and I’m hoping my performance will boost, though my board still can’t handle faster speeds even with the 3200MHz on two DIMMs previously.
Noted that the 9800X isn't available everywhere. I chose the TUF board since Asus performs well with Intel. Another idea is purchasing a Ryzen base now and upgrading to an X299 later when the 10920X becomes more affordable. Replacing the CPU and motherboard is relatively straightforward compared to swapping an entire system. Any suggestions for good boards? Keeping the total under 350 euros would be ideal.
Search for a used KABY Lake chip, not the rare ones such as the one you mentioned. Focus on models like the 7900X, which is essentially a 9900X, or the 10700X.
