Checking the details for GTA V.
I have a brief inquiry... I'm assembling a "scrapyard wars" build with a P4 3.4GHz single-core processor (hyperthread to dualcore), 2.5GB DDR2 RAM (upgraded to 4-6GB), GeForce 7900GTX, and two power supplies (one for the GPU, one for the system). How would it handle GTA V? I'm aiming for the absolute minimum settings, with VSync disabled and GPU overclocking possible if I can, plus CPU overclocking as well. I don't expect impressive performance from the machine overall. Dualcore in Hyperthread mode isn't ideal, but it runs at 3.4GHz and performs better with fewer faster cores when many slower ones are involved during gaming. This setup is my first desktop PC, intended to last for a long time. I've been using a laptop for about six years now and am upgrading to this real PC for the next 20 bucks, except for the extra PSU and GPU.
Invest more money to secure a Core 2 Duo with a dual-core configuration would be best, though a single-core model isn’t sufficient
With the motherboard in hand, I'm looking for a Core 2 Quad that supports that socket.
