You're considering upgrading your Asrock X370 Taichi setup. The BIOS is already at 3.3.0, and the support page doesn’t clearly highlight advantages. With your current specs—Ryzen 7 1700, 2x8GB RAM, and a memory upgrade coming—there’s little immediate benefit from changing the BIOS. It might be worth checking how others are doing with similar configurations, but based on what you’ve shared, it seems unnecessary unless you encounter specific issues.

It's better to avoid handling it because you're using AMD, a company often linked with unstable updates. They probably won't thoroughly check older processors.

Received, but your ASUS B450-F Gaming lacks the same board. The BIOS update didn’t provide any advantages for it, and since there are no apparent issues on your end, yours shouldn’t either.

I wouldn't handle it, though it may enhance stability, compatibility, and startup speed.

Thank you all for your replies—still open to more perspectives. So far, the responses match what I had in mind. I believe this board will likely stay under the 1700 range for the near future. When I need a replacement, I plan to upgrade at least the CPU, memory, and motherboard. The original components could eventually form the foundation of a homemade NAS.

EDIT: Nice touch—this was my 2,500th post! That’s a cool milestone.

I attempted to test the new RAM setup. Keep in mind that the Ryzen 1st generation may not handle four sticks at full speed efficiently, so you might need to lower the RAM speed slightly. If you can't achieve a steady configuration with the RAM, it might be time to consider updating the BIOS.

In short, I tried installing the matched RAM, but it didn’t work smoothly. Even when it started, it only loaded three slots at 2400 MHz. I’ve faced other problems with this board too, so I’m returning the RAM to Amazon and will wait until I can test CPU, RAM, and motherboard together.
