other tools like memtest86 aren't the only options. you might try sanity checks, memory profiling apps, or built-in system diagnostics. some programs focus on checking for consistency across multiple RAM modules rather than just one.
memtest86 and p95 are the tools I focus on. I’ll run four full passes of memtest86 and an overnight large FFT for p95. No worries about crashes—I don’t care about stability. It’s slow, might be too much, but it’s fine. I’ve heard Karhu MemTest runs quicker than MemTest86 but works inside the OS and costs a bit.

I typically rely on the Windows Memory Diagnostic utility because it comes pre-installed and performs satisfactory checks. You can find it in the Start menu by searching for it.
