Hey there! I saw your situation and want to help you figure it out. You're testing a 1080 TI (Aorus) that you received after selling, and it seems to function properly before you shipped it. Since your main GPU is a 1080 Ti Gaming X, the drivers should match. However, when you use just this new card, you get into issues like artifacts on the screen and no display at all. You tried installing via GeForce without removing the old one, but nothing works—no loading screen appears. The original GPU still works fine when swapped.

You're considering using it in the second slot of your B550 Gaming Carbon, but you can't get past the BIOS with both GPUs installed. Your main question is whether this card can still mine value even without a working display. According to MSIs info, the second slot supports PCIe 3.0 x16 at x4 speeds. If it meets those specs and you have the right drivers, it might still work for mining.

Since you're open to trying it on an X570 (where it should definitely run), I’d recommend that first. Otherwise, if you want to stick with the B550, make sure you have the latest drivers and check if the BIOS supports the second slot properly. Let me know what you find!

If it doesn’t function correctly, it won’t mine well. Seems like a display issue.

You're welcome! It might be related to a temperature issue—check if the device is operating within its recommended range. If it was working before and now it's not, that could explain the problem. Let me know if you'd like more details!

Make sure it's the identical card. I believe you captured the serial number photos. If it doesn't start up or show anything, it might be related to temperature issues since it can't heat up that fast.
