I’m really excited about those compact fans. They give me a bit of anxiety though. Will the noise be noticeable? Could they fail after a few years and leave me behind? I intend to extend my next project for another decade, similar to what I did with my previous build—still using the Q6600 and feeling quite enthusiastic. That’s why I’m thinking about upgrading, but since I’m into music, I’m very careful about sound levels. I plan to install it inside a Define R6 unit. Will it be audible? I won’t be doing overclocking. I’d like to depend on automatic fan curves in 2020 instead of manually adjusting settings through software to maintain temperatures. I was considering the NH 15, but I don’t want to deal with manual software tweaks. I’m not okay with OC, and I don’t want liquid cooling or any overclocking. Just let me know if it will be noticeable. Also, I don’t mind the fan increasing during games, but music requires a quieter environment. And I won’t move the case to another room or anything like that.
Set the fan curve in the BIOS (common options include "standard" and "quiet"). With a solid cooler, the difference should be minimal. Temperatures may fluctuate slightly, but staying within the same speed range won’t be obvious. The Noctua cooler you mentioned is likely effective. For the chipset fan, choose accordingly.
I also noticed that video, the Aorus Elite isn't present. They also observed Asus models aren't running at 0 RPM during idle. What should I do? If I want to play a modern game and capture it, I assume the fan speed should increase, so I need to adjust the BIOS settings back and forth? Eh.
They mentioned GB models include an idle feature, which surprised me since I assumed Aorus Elite was from Asus. Still, I’m hoping this isn’t a major issue. I’m really drawn to the X670 but am feeling overwhelmed. My body is sore from dealing with such limited specs.
Hi Mate, I own an Aorus Pro Wi-Fi and notice the fan only kicks in when things get really hot. Even then, my GPU, AIO, and case fans tend to be louder. I’m considering replacing the fan with passive cooling or swapping it out for a cheaper model if that’s an option. Cheers!
