Hey, I noticed your X-Plane 11 is running a bit shaky. Adjusting settings doesn’t help much, and your system isn’t using it fully according to MSI Afterburner. It seems the game relies on OpenGL, which might be the issue. Have you heard of someone who upgraded from an older CPU to a newer one and saw improvements? I’m currently using a 4790k and considering upgrading to something like an 8700k or 9700k. Anyone have experience with similar changes and what impact they had?

Need more details? Also share a screenshot of Task Manager on the Performance tab and Afterburner if GPU usage isn’t listed in Task Manager for your Windows version.

This appears to suggest the game is excessively tuned for performance rather than being hindered by a sluggish processor.

Absolutely, I agree—CPU performance plays a key role in OpenGL metrics. It would be great to hear from someone who has done the comparison and shared their findings.

Sure, I get what you mean. Those are tough to handle when pushing overclocks. It's smart to hold off on the 9700K until you're sure others are experimenting with it too.

Sure, it can be tough to make a case for a CPU upgrade until Intel finishes the 10nm process.
