Hello everyone, welcome! I'm a new poster on this forum. I have an MSI Pro Carbon X470 with two RAM sticks already installed (two 8GB modules at 3200mhz). I'm considering upgrading by adding two more 16GB modules of the same brand. Will that be possible? Which slots should I use for the new sticks so the channels line up correctly? I'm just starting to build PCs, so I want to make sure I get this right. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Ensure you use identical RAM sticks only—mixing them won’t work. You’ll need to purchase matching ones.

Combining RAM options makes it quite uncertain whether they'll get along, but you can lower the risk of trouble by choosing compatible speeds, models, and timing.

It's not always the case. I'm pairing a Corsair Dominator module with a Crucial Ballistix Sport module in my X58 setup, and everything functions properly.

It seems like you're referencing a statement about a lottery. Would you like to discuss it further or clarify something?
