I want to know is it okay to use adapters mentioned below to power up Z420/440 MB with standard ATX PSU ?
first HP Z420 motherboard
I Saw few 24 pin to 18 pin adapter that lets u use standard ATX psu on this motherboard, but another power input is 8 pin and in that can I use standard ATX 8 PIN connector or need some adapter for this too?

for this motherboard there is two adapter, 1 for 24 to 18 and another 8 to 12, the question is just if it is ok to use those adapters and use this HP MB with standard ATX PSU
And is there anything else special about those motherboard except PSU ? it is not applies to Power Supply section but i will ask it here as the thread is already open,
in this motherboard can i use standard GTX/RTX video card or need something another like quadro or firepro...
i just never had any touch with server/workstation items and all kind of info would be good.

The 8pin EPS should work fine. You only need the 24pin to 18pin adapter as an extra.

Hi, the PSU has stopped working on the WS and isn’t from HP anymore. It doesn’t look like a standard ATX unit—most of the main connector wires are black. The original model comes with DPS 600 UB Spare p/n 632911-001. Can I use a regular PSU instead? Thanks

What model and manufacturer are you using? Are you using a Z440 or a Z420?
I think it's okay to use both Standard ATX PSUs. Right now I don't have any, but I was considering Z420 since it only needs one adapter. If that works, I'll choose Z440 instead, as I saw on eBay Z420s are DDR3 and Z440s are DDR4. Usually I use Deepcool for power supplies, but depending on the graphics card I might pick PF600 or PF700. in an old PC for over two years with an AMD Radeon R9 280x. everything worked perfectly, no issues with the video card or power supply, and I was still playing games.
Not being dead doesn't guarantee everything is working properly. Drunk drivers who managed to get home safely weren't operating well. We're dealing with very inexpensive, group-regulated power supplies that have mediocre capacitors and were so cheaply built they didn't even try to cover the full input range. These are poor power supplies, and using them with high-power GPUs is essentially a gamble. We frequently encounter numerous such low-quality PSU failures, and it's clear that cheap power supplies are among the most costly components in a PC.
So if the build needs around 500w power and I plan to use a 700w PSU, will that work? You said those can’t provide enough power, so a 500w PSU won’t handle a 500w PC, but a 700w one should be okay.

Even though I’ve used it for more than two years, I’m not claiming it’s better than top-tier PSUs—I just think it’s a good budget option if it performs well under heavy loads for a long time.
It's not only about the wattage figure. Comparing power supplies like this is similar to judging cars just by their cargo space. Sure, you need sufficient capacity for your needs, but many other factors influence how well a PSU performs: voltage stability, ripple reduction, capacitor quality, design, safeguards, efficiency, and more.
