Checking Asus AI Overclock performance: better Cinebench R23 and cooler temps.
Hi, overclocking is something which I'd keep away from but I tried the Asus AI Overclock (CPU core ratio Auto -> AI Optimized) Here are my results: before: 95 degrees CPU during Cinebench R23, result 36500 - 37000 after: 85 degrees CPU during Cinebench R23, results 38000 - 38600 How on earth is that even possible? Better scores AND 10 degrees lower temps? Anything I should be aware of? Any risks? Kind regards, ps. specs GPU: 4070 Ti CPU: 7950x AIO :Arctic Freezer 2 420 RAM: 2x32 6000 ( G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo ) SSD: SN850x, 2 TB MB: ROG x670e-f PSU: HX1000i
It might have caused your CPU to run too low during overclocking! I reduced the voltage by 20 while maintaining a 4.8ghz speed.
Probability suggests launching any game will result in poor performance, and testing under stress is likely to cause failure.
The recorded temperatures, power usage and frequencies are consistent when stable. It’s unclear which setting to maintain. Just a note—interestingly, in games I’m seeing even better all-core performance. I’m still puzzled about why higher clock speeds matter more than Cinebench results. Regards.
I conducted additional tests such as CinebenchR23, Prime95, and Furmark CPU burner. By default, CinebenchR23 consumes more power and generates higher temperatures, while AI settings reduce both. Prime95 uses less power and heat by default, increasing with AI. Furmark tends to run hotter by default but cools down with AI. NoAI versions show different performance characteristics.
