In short, some time ago an attack hit my ISP and they infected all their ZYXEL routers with a backdoor. I fixed it by resetting and updating the firmware, but since then the router has been problematic—mainly with DNS issues and slow performance. I haven’t used it since then. Now I want to make sure the malware is gone and it works properly. Should I look up the latest firmware on the manufacturer’s site? Removing the battery or something else?
