I also thought about it—using a 4690K at 4.5 with 8GB RAM and an 1070 gets smooth 70fps at 1080p really well. It’s hard to say what’s better without more details.

Adjust the settings to a lower resolution so the game can manage more objects within the draw distance in GTA 5.

That's quite advanced, I'm currently on the simplest options...

start low, begin with 720p to check the impact. even though you said high RAM usage suggests you’re nearly out of memory with just 8GB and 90% CPU load, it seems your system is struggling across all areas.

The card seems capable, but I think RAM and CPU are a bit low. I can only upgrade one part now—whose would boost FPS the most? Also, both 1080p and 720p appear to stretch the video to 4:3. I’d prefer a 2560x1080 resolution for a more natural look, regardless of settings.

It seems RAM would be the best choice to stop the machine from relying on the page file. Preferably both should work, but if the game is consuming most of your system memory, add extra RAM and ensure it aligns with available resources.

Thanks, same Ram. I believe you should replace the 2x4 with a new 2x8 since the motherboard only has two dimmslots. My brother can still use the 2x4.

When considering an upgrade, the Ryzen 3 1300X offers solid performance for everyday tasks, while the Ryzen 5 1500X provides higher power and better multitasking capabilities. Your choice depends on your specific needs.
