For your old Ryzen setup, it's important to use the specific Ryzen power profiles. Regular Windows versions can lead to issues similar to what's described. @kapac7a Are you adjusting the voltage? Are you applying the "Ryzen Balanced" setting?

I don't recall anything about the 3000 series, though the 1000 and 2000 models had problems with underclocking. It seems the 5000 series' Curve Optimizer might have sparked renewed interest in undervolting for Ryzen users after those earlier issues.

These benchmarks are outdated, being from five months ago. I also created one using an older R9 390 that ran at 70fps. Since then, I upgraded the graphics and RAM, but results haven’t improved. Someone I spoke to recently mentioned he achieved 70-90fps with this chip.

I understand the issue, but I can't adjust settings to High Performance. It consistently reverts to normal. I've configured the processor power management at 100%, but it remains unchanged and doesn't affect performance.

No, the PSU isn't providing sufficient power for the CPU.

Ryzen Balanced is the setting you should use with 1000 and 2000 series CPUs. Other profiles often lead to issues, as they have in the past. After upgrading your GPU, have you used DDU to remove old drivers? Yes, it was AMD to AMD, but this is still a wise move—particularly if you relied on modified drivers with your older 300 series GPU to improve performance in newer games. This isn't related to power supply problems. The original Ryzen (1000 and 2000 series) struggled with undervolting, which reduced performance even though clock speeds appeared fine.

I previously tested DDU without installing a new GPU. The outcome suggests they may have compromised performance with the latest update for older chips, causing programs to display inaccurate percentage results compared to what @AshleyMLPFangirl mentioned. If you intend to play this game, you might need a different processor and motherboard.

You might not need a new motherboard if you upgrade to a powerful Ryzen processor or even a high-end Ryzen 7 model. The Asus Prime A320M-K can manage those upgrades well with the right components. Adding affordable heatsinks and ensuring good airflow in your case could support a more demanding chip like a Ryzen 9.

Great news! I was hesitant, but now I’m leaning toward the Ryzen 7 5700X plus extra fans inside the case.

In that scenario it would simply shut down. The problem isn't just about spending money—it's about finding a solution. For gaming, could you share your GPU usage?
