Hello everyone, I'm just starting out with PC building and this might seem a bit basic. I currently have a budget-friendly Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard that I used when I first set up my system. I'm considering replacing my GPU but my board is very affordable. I'm thinking about getting an MSI Micro ATX model. My main concern is whether to upgrade the motherboard for more RAM or a faster processor, since my current 1060 reaches its limit at 3200MHz, or should I upgrade the graphics card to something like the 2060 Super or RX 5700. I'm not sure if upgrading the board is necessary at all because it was cheap and I got it on a tight budget. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 2600, Gigabyte B450M DS3H, Micro ATX, GTX 1060 (6GB), 16GB (4x4GB) RAM at 3000MHz, 1TB SSD, 7400RPM, 256GB SSD, Cooler Master Q300L, Seasonic 520W Bronze+.
Your setup seems adequate—no need for a board upgrade. Are you curious about your monitor’s display settings?
I'm having trouble reaching over 95 frames in most games, even after adjusting the settings. I was thinking about getting an RX 5700 or a 2060 Super. What do you think about those options? I've heard some users mention issues with the drivers for the 5700.
The performance has significantly increased since the release. You can also find excellent discounts now, like this one for $330 https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-radeon-r...ription=rx 5700&cm_re=rx_5700-_-14-202-350-_-Product - Since you're playing at 1080p, I wouldn't exceed a 5700.
