The optimal approach would be to enhance the CPU first, then consider upgrading the GPU later.

Sure, but for accuracy I’d also like to see the remaining specifications, such as your monitor’s resolution.

Right now I'm running an ASUS B450M Plus gaming board with a 600W power supply. My display is set at 1080p, but could switch to 1440p if I stick with my CPU. I don't intend to upgrade the motherboard.

CPU is the top priority. The 5700X3D works well with Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE or Peerless Assassin 120 for cooling. Any tower cooler with a 120mm fan will suffice. For 1440p, a more powerful GPU is needed to achieve smooth frame rates. The 5700X3D supports RTX 4070 Ti Super or Radeon 7900XT at 1440p without problems. A 5700X/5800X reaches around a 4070 Super or RX 7800XT.

Sure thing... GPU might be an option for a while longer, but you can just ease the settings. CPU usually isn’t a big issue unless you’re tweaking things. Pick something like a 5700X3D or 5800X—whichever is more affordable, though they’re pretty similar. For gaming, 3D performance tends to shine better.

It wouldn't be wise to expect 1440p; upgrading your CPU and GPU would be necessary, even for older titles. 1080p remains a superior option for your current system.

During the video's creation, it was accurate at the moment, but that’s no longer the case. A 2133 rating will likely cause worse performance than a modern 2nd gen Ryzen. What method are you using to boost frequency? If you’re skipping XMP/DOCP settings, you should also verify the voltage for RAM.

Used docp, attempted manually too; setting the frequency always caps at 2666 since exceeding that causes a boot loop.
