A few issues... It seems like upgrading to version 7 improved my speed.

Nvidia officially dropped compatible drivers, making it stable. Note: Later issues arose... -.-

I suggest not doing it and waiting 6 months like I am. My friend insisted on updating despite what I told him, and it took him 3 days s to find a GPU driver that actually worked. DX12 hasn't been implemented yet, so there isn't even a performance increase. It just isn't worth the headache at this point. Just don't do it.

Save your network adapter drivers onto a USB drive or another storage medium. During the clean installation of Windows 10 Pro, my network adapter drivers didn’t install automatically, leaving me without any way to get them since there were no external drives available. Fortunately, the HDD I had retained some leftover network drivers from my previous Windows 7 setup.

You're right that's actually really important. I was blocked when upgraded to windows 8.1 cause I didn't have drivers I managed to find the old driver disk for my wireless dogle, installed the drivers and then had to install the new ones. Next time had a problem in my raid array so had to do a clean install as well. This time I used my sister's laptop to put the drivers on a usb and I was then able to install the rest of the drivers. I won't be making the same mistake, although I now use an Ethernet connection.
