Hi, I tried to run Minecraft with the Valhelsia 3 modpack but it loads extremely slowly and stutters constantly at around 1 FPS. Since I can play Battlefield 1 smoothly in ultra, what should I do? Should I increase memory or try a different configuration? My specs are: 3GB allocated, Intel Xeon X5450 at 3GHz, Asus ROG Commando GPU with Sapphire R9 280X, 3GB GDDR5 RAM, Kingston 6GB DDR2, Samsung 1.5TB HDD, Gigabyte P650B power supply, Windows 10 Pro 20H2.

Modpacks demand a lot of memory, mainly due to their inefficient optimizations. Larger packs are particularly demanding. Just 3GB won’t support smooth gameplay or even 30 frames per second. Even the base version of Minecraft usually gets 2GB. The exact requirement depends on the pack, but most users allocate around 6 to 8GB. Some push the limit to 12GB for the best performance.

This modpack can quickly consume large amounts of memory. I attempted a comparable version with only 4GB RAM and it performed poorly. Minecraft also runs better when the single-core speed is higher. The X5450 processor is quite outdated (4C/4T LGA771 Xeon), have you thought about upgrading?

I think the x5450 is quite old, now around 13 years, and it’s just not up to the job because of its single-threaded speed. I’m not sure if OP is giving the full picture about BF1 Ultra either. Sure, it should run, but I’m worried about stable frame rates—especially at 1080p with just a 280x resolution, it might drop below 30 fps no matter the settings.

I've noticed individuals purchasing 64GB RAM solely for gaming.

You exceeded the memory limit, resulting in an out-of-memory error.

Yes, a upgrade is necessary, but I don't have the funds for any parts right now.
