I'm really struggling here. Since installing the new RAM, I've been worried about overheating. I initially thought it was just high CPU temps, so I added a cooler. Temperatures are consistently below 40°C while idle, and the GPU stays cool even during games. I haven't changed BIOS settings beyond setting fans to maximum, though I do enjoy the noise. The CPU runs at 1.35v 3800MHz and RAM at 1.2v 2666MHz by default. Despite these adjustments, the RAM keeps getting hotter—whether DOCP is on or off, or I use one stick versus four, it shuts down after a few hours of play. This is stopping me from joining team scrimmages, so I've started using my fan to cool the RAM when needed. I don’t know anything about overclocking, but my motherboard seems capable of handling four 4000MHz sticks, and the PSU is working well. I’ve tried forcing the RAM to overclock manually, but it won’t even reach BIOS settings and requires clearing CMOS to start up, even with a DRAM calculator. Any advice? Should I swap the RAM for new ones?

Place a fan directly onto the memory. EDIT: not this specific model, just an example here: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Dominator...1894&psc=1

It seems like that approach isn't a long-term fix. It should have been avoided from the start, but I wasn't aware fans appreciated RAM. Thanks for checking it out!

Memory performs well even at high temperatures, but similar to any overclocking, proper cooling is essential. The causes differ. Ineffective thermal tape beneath heat sinks, inadequate airflow in the case, or simply poor heat transfer near the memory area are common issues. The same applies to VRM package zones on the board. Adding a fan to the VRMs can assist in lowering mainboard and sometimes CPU temperatures as well. Stay cool!
