Hi there! I'm just getting started with overclocking and would appreciate your guidance. You have a Ryzen 5 2600X running at 3.9Ghz stock cooling on an MSI B450 gaming pro carbon AC motherboard. Your idle temps are reaching 55-57°C, while the lowest you've seen is about 47°C. Could you suggest some Ryzen Master settings to help you achieve a stable and cooler overclock? Thanks!

What temperature are you maintaining? Your voltage is elevated at 3.9GHz, but your 2600(non-X) should handle 4.2 across all cores—around 4.3 on CCX1 and 4.2 on CCX2 when using 1.35V. With a budget 240mm AIO, it runs smoothly in the mid-30s idle and stays under 70°C during artificial loads like Cinebench or Prime.

that's actually lower than I'm getting on auto, you can undervolt a bit to lower temps but other than a new cooler there isn't much

I'm using the stock AMD cooler. The AIOs are quite expensive here, so I haven't invested yet. Thanks for the feedback!

These are based on the temperatures I anticipate for a wraith spire, so it's comfortable. Without a fresh cooler, things won't improve much unless you manage to reduce the voltage and keep stability, which you should be able to achieve at just 3.9ghz.

Hello, i adjusted the voltage to roughly 1.325v during testing at 3.9ghz. hardware readings currently show min at 49.0°C and average around 59.3°C. yesterday at similar settings (1.3125v), temperatures stayed between 41-45°C for most of the day, but the system crashed during boot. i increased voltage slightly in rzyen master to fix it. should i revert to 1.3125 again for cooler temps? thanks for your advice. UPDATE Sad after a few hours of stress testing the new temps are between 46.6-47.3°C min, 43.8-63.5°C max, avg 48.6c – seems acceptable). edited November 5, 2020 by V3SPER update

I previously used a Master Liquid Lite 120mm AIO on my 2600X, which are among the most affordable AIOs available and perform well for this CPU. Are you running the Windows Ryzen Balanced Power Plan? If not, enable it. Also, if you choose Game Mode with Precision Boost Overdrive and run Cinebench R20, what were your results and maximum temperatures?

I had PBO before but now turned it off in the BIOS; the game mode is also disabled. My CR20 score was 2907, and I reached about 80–82°C. The Ryzen Balanced Power Plan isn’t listed in my power settings.
