I decided to assemble my own computer instead of purchasing a ready-made one. I checked the used market and found the Ryzen 5 5800x at $155, an Asus TUF gaming model with B550m (WiFi) Zaku edition for $200, and an EVGA RTX3060 with 12GB RAM priced at $210. I haven’t selected the remaining components yet.
The CPU offers solid value for the cost. The motherboard comes with a premium price, but it's worth considering compared to similar high-end boards. The GPU remains a reasonable deal at $300 or less for most users. Overall, your build looks good, though you might have exceeded your budget slightly on the board.
You're thinking about the special edition Mb. No, if you're concerned. If not, it seems you overpaid for that board. The ASUS TUF B550M special edition is priced around 150 on the used market, while a decent Micro ATX board costs about 110$.
I just traded my 5900x and X570 (Gigabyte Aorus Pro Wifi) for 415 shipped. We bought them together because the buyer of my 3900x mentioned some pins were bent. Please note: even second-hand sellers on Ebay charge tax, and they paid more than that.
That's not bad at all for the 2nd hand market. Damn a board like that is a steal. Got mine for 4.5x more lol.
CPU board is yes, it's significantly more expensive than a standard one. Unless you're after appearance, it might not be worth it.
