I have a Ryzen 2200G and understand they prefer RAM speeds of 3000MHz or above. I'm checking if my motherboard supports that. I need two 8GB sticks. The board I'm using is GA-AX370M-DS3H.

2200G only supports up to 2933mhz memory frequency. These sticks are fine, but will likely run at a slower speed.

It functions perfectly at 3000MHz on the B350 model. Ryzen may not recognize 3000 as a supported speed, yet performance remains normal. Exceeding 2933 on the 2200G is essentially overclocking, though it’s unlikely to lead to issues or warranty problems—it’s generally accepted as standard practice.

There are multiple versions of this memory, all compatible with the 3000Mhz range on this motherboard. Spoiler.

It refers to the total number of ranks combined with the number of DRAM devices. Essentially, it's a count of both hardware layers and components.

It seems the issue likely relates to testing it as a single-channel setup, yet the memory functions correctly in dual-channel mode (slots 2 and 4).
