If the processor remains functional, continue using it until it fails and consider investing in something newer. Every CPU purchased today will be significantly slower than the latest models available for that platform.

You can usually find a used motherboard and CPU for a lower price, which often comes with better performance.

Check if swapping your GTX 1080 for a 1050 Ti makes sense given your budget.

The CPU is functioning, but I'm struggling to maintain 30 FPS on R6 due to stutters and frame rate drops.

You were inquiring about CPUs. This came from a previous conversation. A fresh CPU on that system may only improve performance to 40 FPS, causing stutters and frame drops. Plan ahead by saving for a month and opting for a used model—such as a first or second generation Ryzen or a new i3 12100F with an updated H610 board and additional RAM.

Well, it's unclear whether you're using an FM2 or FM2+ socket. If you're curious, you might look into the A10 7870K. It features a quad-core processor with just two floating-point units. Purchasing that chip for around $15 to $20 could be a solid upgrade, though it won't significantly boost performance in modern games. The FM2+ system is quite outdated, so perhaps saving some money would be wiser for a more capable PC.

Huh? 2080 is a GPU, not a CPU. But the point we are making is, no CPU that will work on that mobo will be "worth it" to upgrade to. You would need a serious system overhaul to have any meaningful gains unfortunately, and spending a few bucks on a new (and still really slow) CPU doesn't make sense, cuz if you save say 2 or 3x that money, instead of getting a 10-15% improvement (which from 30 FPS would be 35 FPS at best), you would get over 100% improvement. To follow back up on the 2080 thing, maybe you were reading my signature? Rig: i7 10700k @ 5.1Ghz, 4.8 Ring - - Z490 Vision G - - EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra @ 2025Mhz - - 4x8GB Vengeance Pro 3000Mhz 15-17- etc etc? If so, that is my PC, lol.

The available processor isn't worth investing in for your system. Even the top models remain poor for gaming and won't provide a solid experience with any GPU you choose
