Hello, I'm changing the motherboard and CPU, everything seems compatible and should function properly. However, I'm unsure if I need to update the BIOS and how to do it if my motherboard's BIOS version doesn't support the CPU I'm using. My current ASUS Prime Z390-P requires a BIOS version of 2208 or newer for certain CPUs. I'm wondering whether my new motherboard's BIOS will support my new CPU, or if this board only supports all LGA 1200 CPUs across any BIOS version. I'm getting an MSI MAG B560 TORPEDO and an i7-10700F, anyone has any advice on the required BIOS version for this CPU? How can I check what BIOS is already installed on my new motherboard?

I've discovered only a handful of BIOS updates, none referencing the i7 10700F, which suggests it should function properly. Installing your new CPU should work smoothly. I understand, but there isn't a bios version listed next to my CPU, so it should function with any supported BIOS. Or maybe I'm missing visibility due to the BIOS version I have. Sorry for the inconvenience. Edited November 4, 2021 by lwzi
