I've assembled two identical computers for work that experienced comparable issues. The Ryzen 7700x with Asus TUF B650 Plus, paired with G.Skill Flare X5 32 (2x16), AMD EXPO 6000MTs, Samsung 980 Pro 1TB, and MSI 4070ti Gaming X Trio Corsair RM1000X (2021), was my first setup three months ago. All drivers were installed and current; BIOS updated to the main stability patch, AMD EXPO profile activated for RAM, Windows refreshed. This machine would freeze and display a blue screen roughly two to three times weekly. After examining minidump logs, RAM instability appeared likely. I recalled the Ryzen 7000 series sometimes exceeded stable MHz limits, so I used Ryzen Master in ECO mode. Still faced BSODs, so I disabled EXPO to run RAM at base 4800MHz. After about two months, stability returned completely—no freezes, crashes, or BSODs.
The second machine, built two weeks prior for a colleague, used identical components. I followed the same configuration, installed Ryzen Master in ECO mode without EXPO, and ran it normally. It operated smoothly for several days before freezing every Windows login attempt from boot. I tried logging in quickly to bypass the freeze, but it would still lock up. After some online research and testing, I attempted to enable EXPO on the RAM. Initially stable, it remained so until freezing during login—then occasional blue screens followed. Drivers were updated, but the machine would still stall after a few seconds on the login screen. Further troubleshooting suggested possible GPU driver issues, VGA errors, and CMOS problems. Eventually, I replaced the 4070ti with a verified working 1070 in both machines. The 4070ti was swapped between the first and second units, yet only the second one booted correctly. After reinstalling drivers and updating BIOS, the first machine ran without issues once the 4070ti drivers were refreshed. I then transferred the updated 4070ti from the second to the first, but it still froze on startup. Eventually, after several attempts, the system displayed a white and green VGA LED after ten seconds. This pattern suggested early boot instability. I attempted BIOS tweaks, but the white and green LEDs persisted. After replacing the SSD and adjusting CMOS settings, the system booted again, though it still occasionally froze on startup.
My conclusion is that the RAM is likely the root cause of these problems, despite positive reviews for the components. I’m considering returning the faulty RAM and trying a different build. I’m also open to suggestions on BIOS adjustments or hardware changes. Feedback from others would be helpful.
