I've been using my computer regularly for browsing the internet. Last night my PC stopped working suddenly, it shut down and when I tried to start it it kept beeping. I thought it might be RAM problems but checked and everything seemed fine. When I powered it off without RAM it beeped five times with a red LED. After putting RAM back in it booted up automatically with a black screen and green light. Over time the fans started spinning faster, indicating overheating. My system appears clean with a new CMOS battery and thermal paste. VID_322000116_204648_702.mp4 Can someone assist me with this?
You verified the memory, the safest option is to visit a reliable service center and confirm everything is correctly installed.
The beep indicates a memory issue; wipe the contact area on the RAM with an eraser. Then, use a fan to blow air into the DDR4 connectors.
You should probably upgrade to a new computer, it’s been around 8-9 years and fixing it isn’t worth it anymore. If you have money, visit Currys in the UK; I’m not sure about U.S. shops. In the U.S., Amazon has plenty of gaming and regular PC options online, whether you’re on a budget or not. BestBuy in the U.S. also carries laptops—don’t attempt to repair an 8 or 9-year-old model, it’s probably time to replace it.
