For roughly a month now, whenever I play games or chat in Discord, my PC would freeze for about five seconds before restarting. This occurs unpredictably. I tried reinstalling my machine. I updated Windows 11, the GPU and CPU BIOS. The problem persists. I suspect an icon issue was the cause. I removed it and it still happens. Occasionally, while playing a game, my PC would lock completely and force restart. I uninstalled Discord and it continues. Now both programs are reinstalled. I verified everything is up to date. Recently, I ran stress tests using 3D Mark Time Spy. No wallpaper engine was used; it passed. When enabled, the wallpaper engine failed repeatedly. I swapped the card into a different slot and still faced issues. My friend with the same GPU didn’t have problems. I reinstalled it and ran both tests—no crashes with the wallpaper engine active. Last night I was chatting in Discord and experienced stuttering again, with no game running. I’m stuck at this point. The event viewer shows nothing unusual. GPU temperatures stay around 67°C. Sometimes I lose all audio and must reboot to recover. I need a clear answer about what’s causing this. I also ran Crystal Disk Mark and Samsung Magician, both confirmed my drives are healthy.

Windows 11 requires TPM to be active. Consider updating your BIOS to check if Asus has resolved the stuttering issue on that board. If not, boot into another OS without TPM enabled and observe if the problem persists.

Problem persisted even on Windows 10 when TPM was turned off. Updated BIOS prior to the fresh installation of version 11.

try matching the GPU between you and your friend until one of you fails. if he fails, it's your GPU; if you fail, it's his. keep RAM at the default low settings just in case. stick to stock CPU settings. this approach works for any friend, even with a different GPU.

I can help with that. Running hwinfo64 alongside a timespy session will display detailed information about your graphics card. In Sensors only mode, you’ll see specifics like driver version, memory usage, and power consumption. Regarding freezing during wallpaper engine and timespy, checking for smooth performance is key—let me know if you’d like guidance on testing stability.

No, I haven't checked the default settings after the BIOS update. Would you like me to do that for you?
